The GoggleQuad USA Tour is about many things which we will release as we better organize them. In a nutshell, it is about setting an initiative, mission, or goal, and meeting it with a center theme on healthcare, insurance, energy dependency, and doing something for the country.
Unlike what you get for your taxes every four years, pointing fingers, and the same old rhetoric. The GoggleQuad USA Tour will be a positive mission to raise awareness and ideas. I think the last time this country had a real initiative was around the time this quote arose; “And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”

GoggleQuad USA Tour: Mission Highlights
This WILL NOT be a cross the country vacation. It will be a 10,500 Mile Mission around the United States of America in 150 days (5 Months) in a standard Permobil Street Corpus electric wheelchair! This will be a very structured Mission, as GoggleQuad will need to have all his healthcare needs scheduled based on his position relative to the Home Healthcare provider, lodging per day, and correlation to Permobil dealers for break downs. This breaks down to 100 miles a day with a chair that can do 20 miles. Right now we are looking 10 sets of batteries (20 batteries in total) that will get swapped in every 20 miles while yesterdays sets are charging for tomorrow. Based on 6 miles per hour, GoggleQuad will be looking at riding 10 to 12 hour days, 7 days a week, rain or shine.
Get as many stories on healthcare, insurance, energy dependency, and the USA out as we can, both positive and negative through every way possible, news, radio, blogging, pod casts, GPS Tracking, and live streaming video in WiFi hotspots. GoggleQuad will actually be looking forward to hearing positive medical and healthcare stories since in his 23 years of quadriplegia, having a one foot in healthcare industry, has not heard very many positive stories.
Conceptual Let’s Getting Wheeling Date is set for: Friday, June 8th, 2007, GoggleQuad’s 24th Anniversary of Quadriplegia.
Setting the Mindset
We thought it might be a good idea to get a common vision of where we are, were, need to go, stimulate thoughts, and ideas by listing some quotes from our ancestors. Can we learn anything from history?
“Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.”
John F. Kennedy
“The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were.”
John F. Kennedy
“We in America do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate. “
Thomas Jefferson
“It was once said that the moral test of Government is how that Government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped.”
Hubert H. Humphrey
“In a very real sense, it will not be one man going to the moon it will be an entire nation. For all of us must work to put him there. “
John F. Kennedy
“The best minds are not in government. If any were, business would hire them away. “

Abraham Lincoln
“You may deceive all the people part of the time, and part of the people all the time, but not all the people all the time. “
Abraham Lincoln
“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it. "

“Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends [life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness] it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government... “
Thomas Jefferson (The Declaration of Independence)
GoggleQuad USA Tour: 1st Milestone
Figure out how to get 100 miles a day from a chair that will only do 20 miles without changing batteries. Swapping in batteries every 20 miles would physically work, however, we do not feel it is realistic to complete the mission. This task will be older than the hills by day three.
October 8th, 2006 Steamtown Marathon deadline for a conceptual prototype device to get more mileage. We will also be using this marathon and others to test elevation drops and motor heating, etc.
Until we conquer the first milestone there is no sense getting into all the others.
If you are interested in sponsoring the GoggleQuad USA Tour or have any ideas how to conquer our 1st milestone, please do not hesitate to email us, or just post. We are currently working the latest commercially available solar, wind, and batteries technologies.
